Unable to download Lightroom, getting error message 'cannot connect to app store' (macOS Catalina)

ive just downloaded light room,but it keeps giving me a message saying cannot connect to Mac app store i'm running os catalina, any light shed on this greatly appreciated, regards Paul

Could you please tell us which version of Lightroom you have downloaded? Which version of macOS Catalina are you using? From where did you download the application? Please check the minimum system requirement and Lightroom compatibility with macOS Catalina: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-cc/system-requirements.html.
