Question

unable to export after updating

Since updating to Lightroom version 9.4, I am told that I need to update AI settings before exporting photos, even if I have only applied denoise. The process then hangs, stops completely, and tells me that Lightroom needs to repair, and that I should reinstall it. Having done this, the same issue remains. I have now reverted to the previous update which is working fine.

Thank you so much. I have worked through the recommended order for processing, and everything now appears to be working correctly.

    Hi @Mookie21

Thanks for reaching out. If I’m understanding correctly, you’re encountering this error while exporting images from Lightroom, especially after applying Denoise or other AI-based edits. This is a known behavior where Lightroom requires AI settings to be updated before export, and in some cases, it can get stuck or fail during that step.

As a first step, please try the troubleshooting steps outlined here: https://adobe.ly/42oIJ9d

If the issue persists, we’ll need a bit more information to investigate further:

    • Your system info (go to Help > System Info, then copy and paste it here)

    • Does this happen with all images or only specific ones?

    • If possible, a screenshot or screen recording showing the error message and your workflow.

We’d be happy to help once we have these details.
