Unable to import color profiles

Why am I not able to import any color profiles to Lightroom? Under "Import Profiles and Presets" when I go to colorsync, all choices are dimmed and I cannot select anything. I am using MacOS Big Sur 11.6.5 and Lightoom CC 5.3. No difficulty importing profiles to Affinity Photo. I would appreciate the help. Thank you.

I do not understand your objectives!

Lightroom can only import Develop Presets and Develop Profiles that are in the .XMP format.

Where have you obtained the Develop Profiles? Purchased? Downloaded?

The Colorsync profiles you are looking at are 'Printer' profiles  (Lightroom does not have a 'Print' module) , or 'Display' profiles for monitors. You cannot 'Import' these to Lightroom.

I did not know that Lightroom cannot do this, since other photo editing software I have does. I suppose that you are expected to pair it with Photoshop for the colorsync/print profiles. Thank you for the information and help.

Lightroom and Lightroom-Classic have no way of  directly 'importing' or using LUTs for color grading, unless you use ACR & Photoshop to create a Profile from a LUT. Then the Profile can be used in Lightroom.

Hi there,

We're sorry that you cannot import color profiles into Lightroom Desktop 5.3.

Since when are you noticing this issue after the recent update? Have you tried any troubleshooting steps? Can you please share a screenshot of the import window? Would you mind updating your macOS to the latest version?

You might try resetting Lightroom preferences. To do that, keep a backup first and then hold down Opt and Shift while opening Lightroom, and it'll ask whether to reset the preferences.

Let us know if this helps.

Regards,

Ranjisha

That is what the screen looks like when I try to import any icc color profiles, grayed out.

I cannot update to the latest OS for my particular Mac laptop. And I have tried all troubleshooting that I know how to do. Maybe it's just not possible to add icc profiles to Lightroom. Thanks for the help.
