Unable to import new photos/save edits

Recently, LRCC won't let me import new images unless i close out and reopen. If I try to import new images after deleting complete images it just freezes and I have to force quit. Once I reopen everything is fine, but this is happening after every batch of photos. I also imported a fresh batch last night and when I went to edit them today, none of my edits saved so i had to force quit and reopen/reimport. any ideas?
