Unable to update Lightroom on Mac

I'm unable to edit the same photo on lightroom on mac. getting this update error.

Lightroom 4.3 is indeed quite old. How do you try to update it? From the app itself or from the Creative Cloud app? You need to use the latter. You could perhaps try to uninstall it and reinstall it instead if the problem persists.
