Question

video timestamp how get it to sync to photo timestamp

With canon eos R1 and also 1DX ii the video timestamp is not matching the photo timestamp. Cameras timecode is set to ”free run” time set to camera.

Yes both Canon R1 and Canon 1dxii. The time diff is like mpre than 60minutes. Does not appear to be constant so need video clip by videocliåp time adjustment

    Hi @b3nkts,

Thanks for reporting this. To understand what’s happening with your Canon EOS R1 and 1D X Mark II files, could you please confirm:

    • Approximately how far apart are the photo and video timestamps in Lightroom? Is it a consistent offset, such as exactly 1, 2, or several hours?

    • If you take a photo and video immediately one after another, what capture time does Lightroom show for each?

    • Does the same offset occur with files from both the EOS R1 and 1D X Mark II?

    • Which Lightroom version and operating system are you using?

If possible, please also share one original video file and one original photo captured at approximately the same time. Please upload the untouched originals rather than exported copies, since the embedded metadata is what we’d need to compare.

Once we have a sample pair, we can determine whether Lightroom is reading the expected video capture-time metadata or whether this is a metadata/timezone interpretation issue.

    Best,
    Anshul Saini
