Warped images in shared Lightroom album

Question

I created and shared an album from a collection in LR Classic.  When viewed in a browser, some of the images are distorted.  A small disc with a +/- sign appears in the lower right corner of the screen.  You can move the image around with the cursor.  I'm guessing that the image is being interpreted as a panorama but it's not - it's a standard 3 x 2 uncropped image.  This happens on multiple images.  Any idea why this is happening and what I can do about it?

Here's more information. The problem also occurs in Lightroom on the web when I click on the image to see it full screen. I've attached a screenshot of the icon that appears in the lower right corner of the screen. What is this???
