Watsapp images not appearing

My watsapp images are not appearing when I try and download them into lightroom. This suddenly became a problem yesterday, and I tried to fix it by uninstalling the app and reinstalling and have now lost all my photos and still cannot see the watsapp images I want to download. 🙄 Please help!
