Weird border flicker around the picture

Lightroom iPad 11.0.1 C6/C890/221

I don't know what happened, but the last version of Lr on iPad has quite a few bugs.

  1. Weird border flicker around the picture: when editing a photo, pretty much any slider/settings, a flickering border appears, which can be quite annoying
  2. Color mix sliders not working at first: sliders for Hue goes from +2 to +8 instead of -100 / +100, when first opening the panel. It impacts the first color only; once you switch color, all others are fine, including the one at the opening
  3. Color temperature picker really slow: the color temperature picker is now extremely slow, refreshing at best once per second. Impossible to make small changes
  4. Imported picture are not always added to the open album: still need to document this one more, but I've had it multiple times. I think it's always the second import, but I need to check. I only import inside an album, and it's always select in the import screen. Photos are imported properly in the library, just not added to the album.

I have the same exact problem on PC, I've noticed in the last days that when I adjust any slider, around the edges of the image, a chequered background (like Photoshop's one) appears, it's just one or two pixels wide, but it's so distracting and annoying... and yes, it's only on the images with de-noise applied...

Hi @AlexJz and @IoRobot_98,

Thanks for the detailed reports and for sharing the screen recordings. That helped clarify what you’re seeing. Based on your findings, this behavior appears to be related specifically to images that have had Denoise applied on a desktop and are then viewed or edited on another device.

At this point, here’s what we recommend testing next:

• Please update to the latest versions available

– Lightroom (cloud-based) desktop: 9.1 & Classic 15.1

– Lightroom on iPad: 11.1

• On Windows, make sure your GPU drivers are fully up to date from the manufacturer’s website.

• On iPad, confirm you’re running the latest iPadOS (currently 26.2).

For transparency, I’ve tested this on:

• iPad Pro 13” M4 on iPadOS 18.6.2

• iPad 10th gen on iPadOS 26.2

• Lightroom iPad 11.0.1 and 11.1

I wasn’t able to reproduce the border flicker or slider lag on denoised images in those setups.

If the issue still persists after updating:

• Please share your system info from Lightroom (Help > System Info)

• Confirm whether the denoise was done in Lightroom Classic or Lightroom desktop

• Let us know if this happens on all denoised images or only newer ones

We’ll use that information to check further with the product team.

Thank you for your patience and for continuing to report this issue clearly.

Best regards,

Anshul Saini

What about the other issues, like the color balances picker being incredibly slow?

I think my Lightroom on iPad just updated since it had to reindex; it's still there.

Only the color mixer bug seems to have disappeared

Hi @AlexJz! Thank you for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear about your issue. Please let us know if this is the case with all types of images or specific ones. Have you tried force-quitting the app and restarting your iPad? If not, I suggest you do so and make sure your iPad is updated to the latest iPadOS version.

Thanks a bunch!

Hi Noel,

It's not a single image. I'm testing more, but there's a very good chance that it's only doing this on all images that have been denoised on Lr (Mac version).

App has been forced quit many time.

iPad is always running the latest version

Hi @AlexJz, thanks for reaching out and for testing!
Could you let us know which iPad model you’re using and the exact iPadOS version? From the screen recording you shared, I couldn’t see the border flicker you mentioned, could you share a bit more detail about what you’re referring to?
A few things that can help speed up Lightroom on iPad:

Clear the local cache
Close other apps running in the background
Set albums to Store Locally
Increase the cache size

Thanks!
Alek
