What is lightroomhelper.exe and can it be stopped?

lightroomhelper.exe is destroying my internet connection and making everything on all devices in the house unusable. I am visiting someone with a slow connection, but it is just about good enough when Lightroom isn't on and uploading photos to the cloud. There is also lightroom.exe taking up a chunk of the internet bandwidth too, which makes me wonder if the former is necessary and perhaps something that can be disabled? 

 

I am only trying to upload 20 photos but they take forever and I have had to let them upload overnight when not using my laptop. Normally I can download files, watch YouTube and browse the internet fairly smoothly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

 

LightroomHelper.exe is an essential service that runs in the background to support the Lightroom app. 

 

Which version of Lightroom are you using and on which OS? Do these services still appear if you close Lightroom app and restart your computer?

Would you mind pausing the sync from Lightroom? Click on the Cloud icon on the top right and then pause the syncing. Does the app still consumes a large bandwidth of your Internet connection?
