When I am pasting my edited settings on another photo, the system freezes and I have to restart LR. Usually this is not an issue. Anyone know a fix? I've done it like 6 times today

Please share more details, like the version of Lightroom, operating system details, and screenshots of the error (if any).

Is sync paused? Does this happen while editing images in the 'Cloud', or the 'Local' view? At this point, the information is too limited for me to help you.
