Question

When I move away from an image, I can no longer erase edits one at a time.

I've been noticing that I can no longer erase edits one by one if I switch between images. Is this a new feature that can be turned off in a setting menu or a bug?

Please see the screenshots in which the first image shows the undo arrow and the second does not. The second photo being taken after I have swiped away and back to the image.

I'd also like to add that I tried to bypass this by opening the reset menu options. But I am only provided the following options:

adjustments

all

to import

to open

Hello @Eduvina26177971xnc7

I'm not sure there is a change/bug here.  Multi-step undo generally works, until you step to the next/previous image, when all the edits you've made are then automatically committed.  After all edits are committed, and then you return to the image for further edits, the previous undo stack no longer exists for you to step through.

Is it possible you are thinking of how procedural, step-by-step edits are displayed over in Discover or Learn views?

If I'm missing your point, could you add a video screen capture to help illustrate your questions.

Thanks for reaching out!

Hello Charlie,

Thank you, my question was answered in your message. Was this always the case? If my memory is correct, I used to have the ability to go into my edited images, at any time, and the multi-step undo option was available.

By any chance is there a setting in which I can choose to have multi-step edits available and not commit them to my image?

Appreciate it!

No, there is no setting like that.

The screenshots from your original post above had me focused on Lightroom iOS.  Are you or were you a user of Lightroom Classic?  LR Classic has a history panel that showed the edits made, step by step.  The History panel does not exist in the newer cloud-centric version of Lightroom for desktop, or Lightroom mobile.
