when I try to use a preset I created on other photos, a massage appears saying that an AI mode is being installed. however, there is no actual installation taking place, and I'm unable to use any of my preset.

Thanks for reporting this. The message about an AI model being installed may appear when a preset contains an AI-based adjustment that requires an additional model for Lightroom to apply it.

Since the installation doesn’t appear to be progressing, I’d like to determine whether the model download itself is stuck.

Could you please let us know:

• Which Lightroom application are you using: Lightroom Classic, Lightroom Desktop, or Lightroom Mobile?

• The exact Lightroom version and your operating system/device.

• Does the message show a download percentage or progress indicator? If so, does it remain at 0%, or does it stop at another percentage?

• Does this happen with all presets, or only presets you created that contain AI-based adjustments/masks?
  
  

As a targeted test, please connect to a different network, such as a mobile hotspot or a different Wi-Fi network, temporarily disable any VPN/proxy if you’re using one, restart Lightroom, and try applying one of the affected presets again. This will help determine whether the current network is preventing the model from being downloaded.

You can also open a photo and try an AI feature directly, such as Masking > Select Subject or Select Sky. Please let us know whether Lightroom successfully downloads/uses the required AI model there or whether you receive the same message.

If you’re using Lightroom Classic/ Lightroom Cloud-based, please also go to Help > System Info > Copy and paste the complete System Info here.

If possible, please also attach a screenshot of the exact “AI model is being installed” message. That will help us identify which part of the model download process is getting stuck.
