When I use generative upscale, 1/2 the time it is stuck on "preparing to upscale" . If I try again on the same photo it works

½ the times generative upscale gets stuck and wont complete the process--cant even get to the screen to chese 2x or 4x

Thank you for reporting this issue with Generative Upscale getting stuck on "Preparing to upscale" in Lightroom.

We identified a service-side issue with the upscaler that caused it to get stuck in a loading state and not return results. This issue has been resolved on our end; no further updates are needed on your side, as the fix is server-based.

Could you please try Generative Upscale again and let us know if it's now working consistently on the first attempt? If you still experience the issue, please copy & paste your Lightroom System Info. (Help > System Info). Also, please confirm whether the issue occurs with all images or only specific ones, and share a screenshot or a screen recording of the issue.

Let us know if it’s working fine on your end now or not.

The upscaler no longer seems to get stuck. Thank you so much.

However ½ the time when saving the DNG to my Photo file (WIn 11) as a large JPEG it gets stuck on “Processing” If I hit the x and stop it and try again it will usually upload on the second try.

@martma25, glad to hear the upscaler issue is resolved! For the JPEG save getting stuck on "Processing," here are a few things to try:

1. Clear Lightroom's local cache. Go to Preferences > Local Storage > Clear Cache, then restart Lightroom. A corrupted cache entry can cause individual exports to stall.

2. If you're saving to a folder managed by OneDrive, Dropbox, or Windows Backup, try saving to a plain local folder (e.g., C:\Users\YourName\Pictures\) and see if that helps.

3. Disable GPU acceleration temporarily. Go to Preferences > Performance and turn off "Use Graphics Processor," then try the export again. There was a known issue where GPU processing slowed or stalled JPEG exports on certain hardware.

If none of these resolve it, could you please copy & paste System Info (Help > System Info). Also, please confirm the average/ approximate file size of the DNG you're exporting. Whether the issue happens with all DNGs or only the upscaled ones?

This will help us narrow down what could be the issue and suggest next steps.
