Where are my newly edited images?

I've recently downloaded Lightroom 8.5 after discontinuing my subscription a few months back.  I've spent hours editing new images.  During an edit, Lightroom froze and closed.  I opened it up again and not only were all of my new images gone, but all of my old Lightroom images and folders from past years somehow downloaded and appeared, which I didn't really want in my new download of the software.  Can I get my new images back?

Thanks for your help. I finally realized I needed to be in Local Mode, not
Cloud. I've been on different Adobe plans throughout the years. I
probably do have more than one ID.

Have you checked http://lightroom.adobe.com/?

That will tell you what is synced to the Cloud.

When you were using Lightroom, were you using the Cloud or Local Mode?

Plus, have you always had the one Adobe ID or could you have two log ins?
