Why are my preset imports changing name to a hex code?

When I import a preset, for example 'Sage - Less Orange.xmp', the name changes to some random hex code like this, '088bc661003c4c49aecf8a3609059ae0'. The new file is also called '088bc661003c4c49aecf8a3609059ae0.xmp'.

LR CC is up to date and I've tried restarting both Lightroom and my computer but nothing has changed. I can obviously just rename the preset in Lightroom but that's a pain when you've got quite a few.

Yeh, no problem. Here's a video of what I'm doing and what's happening. Lightroom Presets Name Change - YouTube

I'm just importing them from my desktop.

Thanks. It certainly looks like a bug, though I noticed that some of the presets did come in with the correct name. I suggest you post at the official Adobe feedback site, Lightroom CC | Photoshop Family Customer Community and include the video link as well. Adobe staff monitor that site more closely than this one, so more chance of the problem getting the attention of the engineers if you post there.

Just to be clear, are you saying that the preset name appears with that hex code name in the presets list in the LRCC app itself? I know that "under the covers" LRCC uses those hex code names, but they shouldn't appear like that in the app itself, they should still appear with the original name.

Yeh that's also what it appears like in Lightroom.

Could you provide details of how exactly you are importing the presets into LRCC, i.e. where are you importing from?

That’s strange, you may expect that in the computer’s filesystem to allow for ecosystem syncing but not within the app itself.

Maybe post here and an engineer may explain:
