Question

Why doesn't adobe offer native support for OM system cameras??

Olympus was a major player in camera production, and their camera division was bought out by OM Digital Solutions, but they’re still very prominent professional cameras. My E-M1X is older now so I don’t usually expect support, but the fact the make isn’t even available in lens correction settings (while less popular brands like lensbaby is available by default) is crazy to me. Am I missing some kind of camera business issue? I did check alternate companies- nobody offers native OM support, and it seems really really strange.

Hi @Dynamic_navigatorb182 , Thank you for reaching out to the Lightroom Community Forum! Your Olympus E-M1X is fully supported in Lightroom and Camera Raw! It's been supported since Lightroom Classic 8.2, so your .ORF raw files should open and process without any issues. Just make sure you're running the latest version of Lightroom (Cloud or Classic) or Camera Raw to get the best results.

As for the Lens Correction panel — what you're seeing is actually by design, not an omission. Micro Four Thirds lenses (like those used on OM System/Olympus bodies) use automatic lens corrections. The camera embeds the correction data directly in your raw files, so Lightroom reads and applies it silently in the background. You won't see an "OM System" or "Olympus" option in the manual Lens Profile dropdown because the corrections are already happening automatically.

Brands like Lensbaby appear in that dropdown because their lenses don't embed correction metadata; they require manual profiles.

To confirm everything is working as expected, you can check these resources:

If you're running into any specific issues with your E-M1X files, such as imports not working, colors looking off, or corrections not being applied, please let us know the exact version of Lightroom or Camera Raw you're using, and we'll be happy to dig deeper. I hope this helps! ^CH
