Why is Lightroom moving my photos?

Hi,

I had to reinstall the OS on my mac computer, and now when I open LR (the web based), I get a message saying on the top banner "Moving Your Photos", and underneath it says "analyzing 0 of one photos". This is after I alreday had it go through many photos before I stopped it (so I could use it).

Any idea what is happening? I have a large collection of 30,000 photos. I have not been adding to it so there are no new files. Does anyone know:

Where they are being moved to?
Why they are being moved?

Likely you had a different location specified in Preferences for local storage. When you reinstalled the OS you lost that location. Audit your Preferences and make sure the local storage is still pointed at the correct place and change it if not.
