(Windows) Lightroom Stuck on "Syncing items" forever

Lightroom CC is stuck on "Syncing items" on the Windows desktop.

iPad is fine, fully synced and backed-up.

 

The only thing I can think of is that the backup to the external SSD is not completed, but I don't know how to confirm that it's fully backed up or not. Not sure what other problems there might be.

 

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

@Sameer K helped solve the issue.

I permanently deleted all files in the Web app (https://lightroom.adobe.com/) and all the files in the Desktop app and it solved it.

Hi there,

 

Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'd love to help you with this.

 

Have you newly imported a large batch of images in Lightroom? What format of photos do you work with, JPEG or RAW? Have you tried signing out of Lightroom & the Creative Cloud & sign in again?

 

Please try this;

  • Press the ALT key (Windows), and click the cloud icon in Lightroom > Click on View.
  • Check the images pending sync & apply flags/ratings to these images.

 

Log on to Lightroom Web (https://lightroom.adobe.com) to check current Sync issues on the left part of the screen.

 

If there are any sync issues, click on them to know more, find the original for those images, and back them up safely before you empty the Sync issues from Lightroom Web. As long as there are sync issues on the Web, you can encounter trouble in syncing images & edits.

Hey Sameer,

 

No I haven't imported a larger batch than normal.

 

Tried to sign out and sign in, no change.

I don't have any images that are pending sync in Lightroom PC app, and I have no sync issues on my web app.

Hi there,

 

Thanks for sharing the details. Have you configured Lightroom to store the originals on an external drive?

Please share the screenshot of the following options from Preferences.

 

If you have set it to a different location, you can reset this & restart Lightroom for the changes to take effect.

 

If this does not help, please go to Edit > Preferences  > Account > Press & Hold the ALT key on the keyboard & select Sync Issue Report.

 

 

This report gets uploaded to Creative Cloud files (https://assets.adobe.com/files). Share the link to this file with me via PM.
