The requirements for the media server state that 3.2 GHz dual core processors or better are required to run Media Server.  The data center I want to use to host my media server can provide 3.16GHz quad core processors.  Will this work?  If so, are there any issues that I might run into?Thanks

My video file is in the folder rootinstall/webroot/vod with the name: "ups3.mp4"Does anyone knows anout it. What should i do?

Hello,I have installed an AMS 5 on an Amazon server.I opened all the traffic inbound and outbound (UDP and TCP).Despite this, I can't succeed to connect to the AMS server in RTMFP.Does somebody else had the same problem, and find the solution.Thanks a lot the answers

We are a university channel that streams 24/7 with Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2 People with IPhones can't watch it. Is there a solution other than asking everyone to get a new phone?

I have a chat client that uses FMS server. I do not know how many more functions are on FSM that I can utilize. There is 0 documentation for the available FMS server. Is there a way to browse or query all the available features/functions of Adobe FMS server?Also some of the chatters crashes my flash play remotely. I think, they are just overflowing the buffer? Is it the case? or how anyone can remotely crash my flash player? This only happens if I kick any of the specific user using the command /kick user.

My project is forwarding an RTMP stream to an RTMFP (multicast stream) using a server action script. In forwarding this stream, the AMSCore process keeps consuming memory. This consumption of memory requires the system to be rebooted repeated. How can this be prevented?

I'm looking for a way to monitor the health of our media server. Specifically I would like to know that videos are being downloaded and played. It would be wonderful if there were a service that could hit a URL, simulate clicking a button, and then detect audio or video playback. If that is not possible, it might be useful to have a service that logs into the server, checks the logs for the last message, and decides if the logs mean everything is okay.I'm actually using Flash Media Server 2, but it is possible the answer would apply to both that and newer versions.Any ideas?

I tried to use Arabic letters (alphabets) in stream name when the stream is sent from Flash professional cs5 to Flash Media Server but Flash Media Server can't undrestand / create then stream file but it can do it latin alphabets.Could you please advise how can I use Arabic letters (alphabets) as explaned above.Thanks.

From buying guide as http://www.adobe.com/hk_zh/products/adobe-media-server-family/buying-guide-comparison.html, the AMS Standard Edition is unlimited in RTMP and HTTP.However, from the white paper as http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/ams/pdfs/ams5-intro-wp.pdf page 5, it did not mention any connection limit?  Will it assume also unlimited?

What are the major difference(s) between RTMP and HTTP by using AMS?Under live streaming, if use RTMP via videoplayer.html, the delay is only 1 to 2 second when go via AMS.But when using HTTP, the live streaming to a desktop via videoplayer.html is at least 10 seconds and to a iPad is at least 25 seconds.   Seemed better by using RTMP for short delay.If just for internal live broadcast within office by using AMS without any restrictive firewall, should it be use RTMP instead of HTTP?On other hand, could RTMP be used for IOS devices?

Hello, all!Please help me solve the problem. I have an instance Flash Media Interactive Server 4.5 under OpenSuse Linux And some clients who pull live streams for a long time, but regularly, about once a 6 hours (around) they fall off with error "socket timeout" (tested under vlc & rtmpdump from neighboring server).In the event log (application log, onDisconnect) I can see only disconnect event, but in t the access log I see stop event and, after, disconnectTell me if there are any timeouts in configuration or this is a "feature" (or special setting)?Thanks for answers!Juri

I am trying to send a 200 kilobits/sec of video.1) The video being received at the other end is not smooth. Even a small drop in the bandwidth at publisher or receiver side produces jerks in the video and audio gets broken as well.2) Then I compared it with Adobe connects video it worked smoothly for the same scenario. I will have live streaming feed in (Custom RTMP) to AMS 5.0.3 (I am testing in starter edition).   If AMS will be able to record live streaming into hard disk and also what formats could be selected?

HelloOcassionally, my clients notice that when they attempt to connect to the AMS server (new connection), they can't seem to publish or subscribe to any videos.  When they attempt to subscribe to a live video all they see is a white screen with no audio (no error messages).  If someone tries to subscribe to them, samething.  The only solution is to restart the AMS server through the AMS console and then everything works fine until it happens again.tried:- Adobe Media Server 4.5 -> 5.0- Increasing the size of the Amazon EC2 instance from small to medium to xlargeNoticed:- Seems to occur if the server CPU load is over 50% and memory usage is around 25-30%- Doesn't seem to have anything to do with connections, its done it for 200 connections and up-to 1800 connections (no issues at over 3000 connections)Anyone experience this?Matt

In the user guide at www.adobe.com/go/ams_on_aws_help, it says the conf files can be accessed. They seamed to be locked. The new amazon ami's files are now locked. In the 5.0.3 they were not.  I've even changed the permissions to 777.this seams to also effect the command prompt box will not let me change the username and password to access the AMS console.  Step by step instruction needed please.Any help, Thank you.
