Hello All,I am creating a simple video conferencing application using RTMFP peer to peer(Netstream Direct connection).Adobe media server is used to get peer Id. Server side scripting is done for getting peer Id.Aggregating messages is turned off. Two people can communicate using this application. It is working but there is slight lag between audio & video. Audio comes later than video. Are there any settings, which needs to be done on server ? Is this lag expected in trial version (AMS 5.0.1 starter)? If we are using peer to peer, does any server settings affect it?Tried changing quatilty & setmode for camera. What needs to be done to reduce the lag(It is around 1 sec) Regards,Arati
Hello All,I needed some help with FMS 4.5 for live audio streaming.I needed the stream statistics for the audio Bytes per Second.(This is to be used for showing the activity level to the user in flash.)This is my hierarchy in FMS:Application=>InstanceEach instance will have multiple streams.FMS server does not seem to have any way to get the stream statistics (byte/second). Please help. Thanks,Karan
Hello,We are trying to implement the #EXT-X-ENDLIST directive to live streams when the stream is complete. Is there anyway to have the directive added when a stream gets unpublished?using Flash Media Server 4.5
Hello,I've installed AMS on a CentOS 6.3 (not supported). I configured everything and RTMP works perfectly. When installing, I choose not to install Apache since I already have Apache with cPanel. Now, I want to also test iOS streaming so I want to get HLS to work.I started by adding this to my httpd.conf:LoadModule hlshttp_module modules/mod_hlshttp.soLoadModule f4fhttp_module modules/mod_f4fhttp.soLoadModule jithttp_module modules/mod_jithttp.so<IfModule hlshttp_module><Location /hls-live> HLSHttpStreamingEnabled true HttpStreamingLiveEventPath "/opt/adobe/ams/applications" HttpStreamingContentPath "/opt/adobe/ams/applications" HLSMediaFileDuration 8000 HLSSlidingWindowLength 6 HLSFmsDirPath "/opt/adobe/ams" HLSM3U8MaxAge 2 HLSTSSegmentMaxAge -1 Options -Indexes FollowSymLinks</Location><Location /hls-vod&
Hello,I’m seeking some clarity/guidance on using FMS v4.5.5 (Streaming Edition) with a browser-based audio player running on iPad/iPhone (i.e. under iOS).BackgroundI have a Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Web Server running IIS v7.5 and supporting a website built using ASP.NET and C#. Parts of the website allow a visitor to play a selection of audio clips from our bespoke MP3 library. Due to UK music licencing constraints, we must stream the clip to the client browser – we must not download either part or all of the source MP3 file(s). We therefore had a custom audio player built for us some time ago using Flash/AS3. This has and continues to work very well, and uses RTMP to stream the clips from FMS to the client browser. As our site has become more established the number of visitors has steadily grown. In the early days the number of visitors from the iOS platform was relatively small but, last month, it had risen to 40%! As Flash is not supported on the iOS platform, this growing group of
I am needing someone to explain the difference in HDS (live streaming & vod) video compared to RMTP (live streaming & vod).My end goal is to have video formats for ALL devices Android/iPhone/iPad/BlackBerry/Apple Mac and Windows to view.
I had some problems with getting RTMP to fallback into RTMPT on a video I was hosting for a client du to a corporate firewall. So I changed the manifests to only use HDS streaming and that worked like a charm! So I'm wondering if I shouldn't be using HDS for all my web streaming and just forgo RTMP all together. I don't know enough about the protocols to know if there are any kind of inherent advantages RTMP has over HDS.I'm running Flash Media Server 4.5.1, delivering multi bitrate on demand video and occasional live video.-Joe

Hello,We have a digital signage system that references a VOD stream. Every week we that video changes, and the simplest method to update is overwrite the old video with the new video in the Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 4.5\webroot\vod directory. Our digital signage system simply looks for the same .mp4 filename at scheduled intervals. Our issue is for some reason it appears the Adobe Media Server is caching the VOD .mp4. Even though the video has the same file name, the content is different. But when played back through a web browser, it shows the old video. If I scrub forward several minutes into the video, the correct content displays. I've ruled out the digital signage system because I get the same results on several other computers.
Hi,Using a Datapath capture card and the latest software 3.2, we create a video file with no audio. We set Mp3, stereo, 44100, 96kbps. I know that the card works as expected as all other apps are ok including GraphEdt.exe and WME.Viewing debug print messages from the DirectShow audio source filter, we see 30 buffers in use whilst previewing in AFMLE, there is no audio preview to the speakers..During encoding, we see 1 buffer in use, no audio preview, and it is not saving sound to disk. The buffer is being returned, for example audio packets are traversing the graph. Video source filter built around the same capture/delivery engine works as expected.Log reads with no errors:Video encoding startedAudio encoding startedWe have sound attached! In addition, when the application is closed the audio capture filter destructor is never called.Thank you in advance, rich.Any ideas?
I have AMS 5.0 on a Windows Server. It is dual core, 2GB RAM server. Not that optimal from hardware perspective. I am doing performance benchmarking on it from recroding perspective. For checking the concurrent recordings it can support, I used Flazr client as well as couple of manual recordings. For manual recordings I used NetStream AS class with record mode. Frame rate was default. Did this testing while sitting in same network, just to keep bandwidth issues to minimum. What I observed is that AMS supported 3-4 concurrent recordings without any signficant loss of frames or delay. With more than 4 concurrent recordings, there was significant delay using Flaxr and loss in frame rate while doing manual recording. Count of 4 seems to be less despite a 2GB server. Now coming to points for discussion:What are the best possible configurations for supporting good no. of parallel recordings with decent frame rate? There is a configuration guide for AMS. Tried couple of relevant things, but di
Hi,Simply question, but i am a beginer on it.Which is the url to login into the admin console, http::<domain>//ams_adminConsole.htm or http://<domain>:1111/ams_adminConsole.htm ?And what is a account to login into it?Thx.-Ono
I'm unable to acquire an accurate connection count for live streams. My current setup entails a live Multi-Bitrate stream via HTTP HLS and HDS with DVR (HDS) and sliding window (HLS). My connection count persistently shows five connections, which is actually the number of streams I'm delivering for the live Mult-Bitrate streams. It doesn't matter if I have 20 viewers or 100 viewers, the count always show five. Any suggestions?
Hey Folks,We're having a small issue with server-to-server publishing (FMS 4.5).We currently have a cluster that looks like this:Flash Media Encoder > Host Machine > Relay Machine (NY), Relay Machine (CHI), Relay Machine(EU)We accomplish this with the following code in main.asc on onPublish:var nc = new Array();var ns = new Array();nc[1] = new NetConnection();nc[1].connect("rtmp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/publishing/"+ newpoint);ns[1] = new NetStream(nc[1]);ns[1].setBufferTime(10);ns[1].attach(streamObj);ns[1].publish(streamObj.name + "?adbe-live-event=liveevent", "live"); ns[1].onStatus = function(info) { trace("Stream Status: " + info.code) if (info.code == "NetStream.Publish.Start") { trace("The stream is now publishing to NY");
Does Adobe media server support 3d movies/content ?I have a 3D camcorder, want to stream 3d content to the client with a 3d monitor. Client software is adobe flash player. I know that 3d is supported on the player side, but does the AMS play 3d objects?
Hi.We setuped an HTTP live streaming application using Flash Media Server and the apache server that shipped with it. It used to work OK, but since recently - the request time - for any m3u8 files of live streams - takes way too long (about 35 seconds) - meaning, if I try to access directly - the url of a live stream (.../hls-live/[app name]/_definst_/[event name[/[stream name].m3u8)in a browser -I get a response with the m3u8 file - only after about 35 seconds(!)Normally it used to be about 1-2 seconds.I will appreciate any information about what can cause such a long delay? and what are the settings that are possibly related to this response time, in the configuration files of the apache server...?Any tip for a direction will be appreciated...P.S.When I check the access logs of the apache - I see the request get HTTP code 200 (so it's ok in that sense. it just takes a really long time, as said)....Thanks,Yuval.
Hello there,Is it possible to set a time limit for users streaming from an FMS server?Whether it's a FMS setting or an Apache setting i'm not sure.We need to set a time limit for our live stream and ensure that even refreshing the page where the stream is embedded doesn't refresh that limit. (Therefore limit stored per IP)
Using HTTP or HTTPS (HDS & HTTP Progressive Download), can an external client (internet user) stream video to their browser with flash installed through a Microsoft UAG access control solution to internal (intranet) web resources (Adobe Media Server) that publish hyperlinks to live or on-demand video feeds? I do not want a user to have to open Flash Media Player and type in a URL. It needs to be point and click. If this can be accomplish can you give a breif description and any challenges/concerns that should be addressed (i.e. bandwidth consumption and feed/stream quality). Thanks!

Hi all,I am testing swf verification function on FMS 4.5 with android air app, but its not work, and below is my test:Deploy an android air swf and a web swf which are flex applicaitons with same code but different platform config, and after i deploy them on fms and restart, air swf client's rtmp connection failed and fms log shows "verfication failed", while web swf passed the verification. so the swf verification on fms works, but not works for android air.And According to FMS 4.5 "Configuration and Administration Guide" P37/256:"If you're deploying an Adobe AIR application, copy the SWF file you compiled into the AIR package to the server or external content repository".i want to verify that is the Air application here only means the desktop air app and not including mobile air (the android)?or am i missing anything configuration which not metioned in official documents for air swf verification?
Hi all,I am testing swf verification function for android air app with FMS 4.5 edition, but its not work: I deploy an android air swf and an web swf which have the same code except the platform difference, but after i deploy them on fms and restart, air swf client's rtmp connection failed and also fms log shows "verfication failed", but with web swf deployed the verification function works well.Am i missing anything configuration which not metioned in officail documents for air swf verification ? And i do not find thread about this issue, so i hope
I am trying to record the h.264 long video through fms server side code(more than 2 hour), but video recording is stopped before I stop publishing the video, and it’s not throwing any error in server side as well as client side, I have given the video recording codestream=Stream.get("mp4:testStream.f4v"); if(stream) { stream.record("append"); stream.play(streamName, -1, -1); }and recorded video also not playing fine, its stuck in middle. should I need to modify anything? Any help are appreciated......
