It is well known using MS Windows Multicast streaming that packet fragmentation can cause issues if the packet size is over 1500 bytes when sending a stream with Audio. Does AMS/FMS video/audio multicast streaming have the same issues or problems? Does FME handle this some how?Thank you in advance for any useful replies.

We are using AMS late binding feature to switch audio channels (available over HTTP streaming), but at the same time we need InBufferSeek feature for frame accuracy seeking (available on RTMP protocol). Is there any way to work with both features over RTMP?

I have been using FMS 4.5 for live video streaming application. when im using the application in my local network everything is working fine. But I use the same application in an external network the connection to the fms server is failed. The problem is that fms server is not configured for external ip. can anyone tell that how to configure my fms server for external/public ip?(say my external ip is 220.225.210.90)Thanks in advance

Hello everyone,In the manual (source: http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/ams/pdfs/ams5-intro-wp.pdf), I can see that the starter edition has a limit on the Live adaptive bitrate streaming (RTMP) : "Limited to 10 simultaneous connections"However, a bit further on, the Starter license seems to be limited to "50 simultaneous RTMP connections".What is the difference between those two? I was wondering how often does FMS update the included Apache that comes with the install?  Is the Apache patched along with every FMS patch? Or, is it possible to pull out the included Apache and use our own Apache instance?  If so, what would be needed to be moved over to our own Apache install from the included Apache (modules, configs, etc)....

Is there any way to see how many clients are vieweing RTMFP IP Multicast stream in FMS Admin console ? I see a connect happening in logs tab for Fusion multicast but in IP Multicast it doesnt . May be cause IP Multicast doesnt make a server connection ?

Im using fms 4.5 server for streaming live video to ipad using HTTP Live Streaming. There seems to be delay of almost 10 seconds in video streaming to ipad. I changed the segmentduration in event.xml to 8000, but there is no change in the delay. Is it possible to minimize the delay to 2 or 3 seconds?Thanks in advance

Im using fms 4.5(windows machine) for a live video streaming application. The application is done in flex 3 and it is about capturing a camera input in the presenter side (windows machine ) and the live video will be streamed to the viewer using the fms. There is no problem if the viewer is using windows machine. But if the viewer is using ipad the video is not dispalying as it wont support flash player. Is there any way to stream a live video from fms 4.5(windows machine) to ipad device?Thanks in advance,Aras

The Adobe Media Server 5.0.1 docs say that Logging.xml controls rotating of the Apache access_log file but its not rotating and I don't see how to configure it in Logging.xml.Logging.xml takes care of the AMS log files like Access.log but it doens't seem to handle the Apache logs. I've seen where you use logrotated to rotate the Apache logs, then issue a "reload" to the service, but AMS controls Apache and the AMS service only supports start, stop, and reload which takes a minimum of 5 to 10 seconds to reload the server. Hii have read a lot of documents, configuration guides and other forum posts and i know there are a lot of other posts regarding this issue. But i try this to get it work since 2 Days Now I'm  a little bit frustrated.I dont understand why HTTP streaming not works. Hi,I'm a newby to FMS and I have several questions ;-).I'm planning an livestream. To get as much viewer as possible my plan ist to stream with 3 different bitrates. This works great ;-). But within my tests a few problems/ideas came up...1. FMS is not recording the stream. I used Auto-DVR as well as manual start stop. I also prefixed mp4: ... any ideas? Is it perhaps because it is not the "interactive" one?2. Is there a _simple_ possibility to to enable something like "autoquality" (between the 3 streams) on the client side? So that the best solution for the local connection is chosen?3. Is there a simple possibility to get viewerstats? Thanks a lot for your help

Hi,      I have set up Edge and Orign sever for live audio-video transmission. Connection set up successfully between the servers but isuue was number of clients displayed in Origin server console. Suppose:FMS1 is origin server,FMS2 is Edge server.A1 is user connected to orign server(FMS1) and A2 is user connected to Edge server(FMS2).A1 publish video stream to origin server and a2 receive stream from Edege server.Now Edge server console  show that 1 user is connected to Edge server and Origin server show 3 users connected to Origin server. Hi there,Instead of 'pushing' a stream into AMS, can the server simply 'listen' to an existing stream and then ingest it? From there, it should simply relay back out as RTMP. Can this be done? If so, what stream formats can it 'listen' to? For example, I have a Shoutcast stream which I would like AMS to listen to and then redistribute back out as RTMP. Similarily I have another RTMP stream already being published...so can AMS listen to this as well? Thanks!

I have created a simple multicast player using actinscript 3 which works fine and plays multicast stream well . Although when stream should fail . Or even if I stop Flash Media server it returns success  codes : "NetConnection.Connect.Success" ,"NetStream.Connect.Success" and "NetStream.Play.Start" . I cant detect  it when multicast stream fails in flash player. I need to switch to unicast stream if multicast fails and I cant detect a failure because of wrong status.  Why I am getting wrong status ?
