I am packaging an f4v with embedded cuepoints with f4fpackager.  The cuepoints are preserved when I stream using HDS, but I am curious. Where is the cuepoint data stored? I do not see anything cuepoint-like in the f4m, so I am assuming the cuepoints are part of the fragments.

Recently I have created FMS server AMI in  amazon , but I can't play the recorded videos  the below error log in corelog 2012-08-30      05:34:01        2750    (i)2611173      Metadata not available before the flush of first segment. HiI know how to display a live stream on a webpage but I do not know how to display it in players like VLC and others that support playing flash.It all come down to that I don't know the address for the live streaming (to insert in the VLC player).The address is: rtmp://mydomain123.com/live/ and the channel is "test".I have tried inserting rtmp://mydomain123.com/live/test into the VLC player but it did not work.Can you help?

In Flash Professional CS6.  I want to connect my application to FMS. To do this in the NetConnection string address do you (A) Put the protocol first? (B)Then enter FMS?  (C) Type in your application name?For example, my string would look like this:         nc.connect ("rtmfp://fms/flashprogramexample");I hope i have got that right. If i am mistaking please highlight my errors for me and tell me how to correct it. Thank you.

Hi,Which product would I need if I want to setup a website (Flash) and let people visiting the website record video's with their webcam.Do you need a AMS product, or can this be done with 'just' Flash?Thanks,B

We have a flash media server 3 running that we mainly use for the shared object functions.When we run the server with less then 100 connections everything runs fine, but when the connections are over the 100 and the shared object is changed the problems begin. All clients recieve the update of the shared object very slow and are not in sync anymore.We are running 3.0.7 r202 on a P4 with 4 GB of ram with a 100mbit internet connection on a linux machine. The system load is NOT over 1 when running in to the problems, also the CPU use is not more then 20% and the memory use not more the 25%. Bandwidth of the server is up to 5 mbit.The core, edge and master logs are clear, no errors at all.We also have no extra configurations made in the configs, all is default.

Hi.  I've been following this document http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11a0773d56e-7ff6Dev.html for adding metadata to an FMS live stream from a Flash widget.I've created a stripped-down version of the code (listed below); the same as the original code except the controls are removed.  It works fine only if I comment out the ns.send calls.  If I leave in the ns.send calls, no clients are ever able to view anything.  I'm using a stock FMS 4.5 install on Amazon EC2 -- the AMI is ami-904f08c2.  And I'm compiling the swf using Flex SDK 4.6 on Linux with the command "mxmlc -compiler.library-path+=./playerglobal11_0.swc -swf-version=13 -static-link-runtime-shared-libraries Broadcaster.as".package {     import flash.display.MovieClip;     import flash.net.NetConnection;     import flash.events.NetStatusEvent;      import flash.events.MouseEvent;   

We are setting up to stream audio at our church and we are trying to figure out a solution to our problem. I want to route the audio from pro tools back into the Flash Media Live Encoder to stream it to the web. I can't figure out how. I want to do this so i can mix and eq the audio in pro tools then send it out to the encoder while listening through headphones via headphone jack on the IMac. All this will be done on the same computer. There will be someone running FOH and then someone mixing the recording and live stream via pro tools virtual mixer on the IMac. I have 32 channels coming from the mixer, through the dante cards, then into the IMac to pro tools 10. The output is routed back to the Dante cards and my IMac's internal speakers/headphone jack. I am not using the dante output for anything. I don't have a need to send audio back to my mixer.I tried using the mac programs soundflower and LineIN to see if i could output the audio to the encoder that way, but the only time I got

Hi,I am using a PC with following parameters:OS: Windows7 Ultimate 64bitMatherboard: Asus p5q DeluxProcessor: Intel quad core Q9450 RAM: 4GB DDR2 1066MHzCapture card : DeckLink HD PRO DLFMLE 3.2 detects the capture card without problems every time and everything seems to be OK. I connect to the FMS end push the start button and the stream starts but shortly after that the stream suddenly stops. FMLE 3.2 gives me messages about the situation but I can't solve the problem.Can someone help me?

Hi,in an earlier post of mine (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4364896) it was stated that the content encryption key was derived from the common-key and the Content ID.Now, I've been experimenting some with this, inserting a proxy doing some filename translations between the client and the actual server, any requests containing "999x222Seg*" gets rewritten to "999y222Seg*", i.e. a different filename. Both "999x222.mp4" and "999y222.mp4" exists on the server.Client requests /hds-vod/999x222.mp4.f4m, proxy forwards exactly the same. Server sees 999x222_1400.mp4.f4m as filename, and the drmAdditionalHeader is set to drmContentId="999x222.mp4" as expectedNow, the client requests /hds-vod/999x222.mp4Seg1-Frag1 as expected. This is however translated in the proxy, and the server will see a request for /hds-vod/999y222.mp4Seg1-Frag1, i.e. NOT the same filename as the manifest was issued for, and thus not the same content ID (?), which would mean another content encryption key would be used.

We are running Flash Media Server 4.5 on Windows Server 2008. We want to move the vod folder which by default is in webroot. We create a new vod folder and then modify the httpd.conf file so that it points to the new vod location. We then stop and restart the Flash Media Server service. However, the server acts like the old paths are cached somewhere in the system. Videos in the new vod folder do not work. Videos in the old vod folder open even though the httpd.conf file was modified.We made sure that the client browsers on which we tested this had their cache cleared.Anyone have any ideas what might be going on here?

I think the problem is I don't know how to ask my question to a search engine, so i have tried searching for the answer already. I'm just trying to create a proof of concept and have freshly installed Dev Server 4.5.Here is what I need to accomplish:     1)     A user will access a URL like http://tempvideoserver.org/?ip=75.75.76.76&user=Admin&pass=Password1     2)     This will start a backend process (vb.net through a much older COM object) that will start creating a series of AVI files of "live" video each being 15 seconds in length and creating an additional file every 15 seconds. This is the closet forum section to that program and I was wondering if there was any way to take the audio input from my capture card as well as a microphone and use those together at the same time.

i use the FMLE  to push an f4v live stream to my FMS 4.0's livevideos app.  then i set the strobe media playback to play the live video. unfortunately, i cannot view the live video in my strobe player. then i make a change  (just delete the steam type : mp4 and the extension : f4v and the h264 to vp6 format)  in the FMLE to push a flv live stream, and configure the src (just delete the steam type : mp4 and the extension : f4v) of strobe player, this time i get the live stream.  what is the matter?BTW after i get the flv stream in my strobe player , i restore the FMLE to push an f4v stream to my FMS, and restore back src on my strobe and  this time i can get the f4v live stream. the main.asc on my fms 4.0 is so simple and i am sure of the configuration of my FMLE is correct.

After streaming a live event how can I package/combine the individual f4f stream files into a single flv file for vod playback? Is there a tool to combine them to a single file? If not how can I chain the f4f files together so they play in order?Thanks,Dave

How can I playback all the fragmented f4f files that were recorded from a live stream? The live stream is over and I want to offer the content as vod now.I copied all the f4f, f4x, bootstrap, control and meta files over to /webroot/vod/Do I need to create a f4m file in this directory as well? I have a Samsung Smart TV.  When I try to watch ESPN3 a higher level Flash Player is required.  When I try to download the higher level Flash Player, I get a message that the system on the TV is not compatible with the required Flash Player.  I have talked to both ESPN and Samsung and they both tell me the Samsung system can not accomodate the higher level flash player and ESPN says they will not make a change to enable the download.The error message I get is:Insufficient Flash Player Requirement. My system: Linux 32-bit Safari; Firefox Adobe Flash Player version: 11.2.202.236 Unable to download higher level Adobe Flash Player.Does Adobe have another Flash Player that might be compatible or do you plan to generate one in the future?  I can watch ESPN on my computer but had hoped to be able to watch it on my new Samsung 46" TV.

I am on FMS 4.5 and use encoder 3.2. I streamed once and then the server would no longer accept a new stream with the same name. I saw a post that said add &adbe-record-mode=record to the end of a stream name and so I did. This allows me to send a live stream for about 10 to 15 minutes and then it stops. If I restart the server it streams again for another 15 minutes and stops again. My server is using out of the box settings. RTMP streaming to a flash player works great live but not http live streaming. I know this can't be the encoder. The config file was modified to stream sync=true. I am streaming also to an outside FMS provider and that streams plays fine. I get no info in my log files other than disconnect. This must be a common problem since my congiuration is out of the box. Do I need to modify settings in the apache server? I checked the log files again and see this in the logs under edge.log:2012-08-2003:06:157068(i)2581173FMS detected IPv6 protocol stack!-2012-08-2003:0

I installed FMS4.5 with no incident on a Windows 2008 R2 Server. Port 80 was not available so FMS Apache is listening on Port 8134. All default instances are running: and I can succesfully connect with Flash Media Encoder 3.2 where applicable, i.e. rtmp://localhost/livepkgr . However, when I run the urls in the OSMF player: http://localhost:8134/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.f4mI get the following error: 'We are having problems with playback. We apologize for the inconvenience'Checked the logs in '/rootinstall/logs', they are not particularly helpful. What' the best way to determine what is wrong?

Hi,This has to be something simple but after hours of searching I can't find any solution.I have a EC2 setup with Adobe Media Server 5 and use s3fs to mount a S3 bucket, this all works fine and the media server is running.I can play both mp4 and flv video via rtmp if I copy the file from the EC2 instance to the S3 bucket, but can not play the video if I upload direct to the bucket.I can see the new file on the EC2 and I have tried setting the permissions and meta tags exactly the same as the working files that were copied from the EC2. But nothing works??Movie Player returns an error "The stream contains not data"VLC gives no feedback, pressing play does nothing??Anyone?Cheers

Hello,I installed FMS on my Windows R2 server. When I try to stream though on FME it keeps saying 'problem with primary server' and that it 'failed to connect to the primary server'.The installation went smoothly it seems, there weren't any issues.How can I troubleshoot this?Regards,

I'm using FMS to stream approximately 30 live events to around 4,000 viewers.  I wanted to make sure there is no limit to the maximum number of RTMP connections to FMS? Also, how many connections does it normally take to start considering adding more servers? I have a pretty hefty server (dedicated dual quad-core with 12gb ram) but I have no way of knowing if it will be enough.  It handled 1,000 connections pretty easily but 4,000 is quite a bit more. I have installed FMS 4.5 on our server and am unable to get the HLS test video to work on an iPad from the FMS Start Screen.  It displays the "play triangle"  with a circle around and line through it in the middle of where the video should be.  I am able to get the RTMP sample to play in various browsers on my PC but the HLS will not work on iOS.  I have searched the web for someone else having this problem but have not found any answers.
