Hello 🙂
When i choose a model it appears without a shadow, see jumping.fbx file attached. Am i doing something wrong?
What do you mean by "default webcam software". I believe Mixamo a custom made web application running a 3d app outputting in canvas. It should not matter if you have a certain webcam app, atleast thats what i think. I also wonder would it needs a web cam in the first place, it has no functionality to use that or is that some old code left in or so? At work i dont have a webcam and it works just fine.
I was thinking his model is to high up in 3d world space. The floor is perhaps automatically projected in the scene. But the because the model is to high up the shadows dont catch the ground.
Perhaps if he tries to reset the app,m try delete cache and cookies and try it again with that same model.
I was looking at the old Mixamo website before the Adobe takeover. and i noticed somethign about using a camera, i also saw some of this in the code on the website, to bad we dont see those features anymore. I guess they are turned off. Though i think the code is still available in the engine.

open web animation standard = WebGL i.e, OpenGL [Mac users] to Direct X [Windows users] and boils down to how your system allows your web browser to animate things
the reality is GPU drivers change and Mac systems tend to be the weak link when it comes to unsupported cards
he tested a different browser so the next step is to use a different machine... ask a mate to log into Mixamo with her Windows system and see if you get the shadow then
at the end of the day, what you see in the Mixamo web page is just a preview to show [more or less] when you are downloading... the model \ animation file you actually download has zero shadow until you load it into Unity, Unreal, Iclone or Blender to run it
