Fuse substitute.

I've been relying on creating characters in Fuse, uploading them to Mixamo to add animation and the downloading and using them in Maya. What is the suggested substitute for that workflow now that Fuse have been "end-of-lifed"?

the  'suggested substitute' is to sort it out yourself mate... Adobe doesn't care

I hope that's not their official answer. 😉 It sounds a little bit Apple to me, to sell a tool, let people build a workflow around it and then snatch it away, and I hope Adobe is more professional than that.
