Question

mixamo to Blender 2.8 will distort the glft

When using mixamo I found in the last 2 months or so that animation look fine in the blender interface but when exported as a glft they are very distorted. Any work arounds?

The smaller screen shot is from a glft to Don Mccrady gift viewer and the larger one is directly in blender and what I want it to look like.

Your help would be appreciated

as a work around for people trying to get their questions answered, you must zip a file to share it on Adobe cloud... only zip works not 7z or any other file type

if you don;t have Adobe cloud then use a 3rd party software like onedrive

Hello again, I believe I have the solutions now. For the distortion issue: put the character in rest pose apply scale  by applying scale  to delta.

For the floating in space character issue ( a new one) select "always sample animations" . I think this is a work around for a complicated quaternion scaling issue that I don't understand.

I hope this helps someone else and thanks for your earlier help.  Libby

By @why do i do this

many people assume that Obj or Fbx are standard file types which all read the data in the same way but no there dozens of different versions of each which means things like scale and colour get messed up

this also why wavefront Obj is still used by pretty much every modeler even after years of other companies pushing their own "Obj" files... wavefront Obj is a standard and every software \ company can read it correct

great that you have it sorted now and thanks for letting us know how you got on 😉

HI - You are kind. I compressed  the  blend file again to send

it to you but  I can't attach it because The file type (.blend) is not supported. Any suggestions?

so "bug" = when you export a model that is not Mixamo from Blender which is also not Mixamo and you import that into some 3rd party software that has nothing to do with Adobe the model gets distorted?

i'd start with the model as that is always the root cause of distortion... load this model into Blender and export as Obj, Fbx and glft ;

the Obj should not be distorted , the Fbx will depend on which version you used so the result is random and the glft is really just a zip file... when you open these files back up in Blender or Windows 3d viewer, what do they look like?

hmm. I'll tried them importing the gltf initially in Blender and it was distorted which is why I tried Don McCurdy.  The obj looks fine but doesn't do animation, the gltf is twisted  and fbx export keeps crashing my computer.  I am  hard to help.
