This can be a very unhelpful error message, because it can be presented to you when your workflow is not quite right.  You might have a model that needs a selection, for instance, and for whatever reason, you did not have an active selection.   The error message reads as if there is an issue at the server end, so most people are going to grumble, and go start a thread on this forum or similar.

Give it some thought. Think about the steps you used, and if they were right for the model you used.  Every time I have seen this message I was able to get past it after thinking about what I might be doing wrong.
