16 GB of "VRAM" not enough for PS?
Hi!
I set up a good performance pc:
- 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700KF
- Motherboard PRO Z790-A WIFI (MS-7E07)
- 64 GB RAM
- three 2 GB SSDs Nvme Gen4
- AMD RT6800 video card with 16 GB of VRAM
With the latest versions of Photoshop (from 24) though, when I use Adobe Camera Raw for auto-mask, correction tools, etc, the software starts to lag, sometimes freezing for a few seconds, always.
Analyzing the performance of the video card, I can see that the graphics memory occupancy percentage is almost immediately at 100% and from that point on everything jerks and slows down.
I enabled the GPU and checked all the boxes in the advanced settings, chose the non-system SSD as the cache unit and put at 70% RAM to use.
Is this my problem or does it happen to anyone else?
I bought a new computer specifically to handle the new PS features, but...
PS Version 25.5
AMD driver 24.2.1
Windows 11 Pro
Thanks
Andrea
