27.10 has serious issues with saving files.

27.10 is slow saving files: 1) Super slow (20 seconds to save a 4K resolution .JPG file.) 2) Erroneous warnings that the file has been updated (it's hasn't) before saving. 3) PS seemingly locking up when saving. Reverting to the prior version of PS (27.9.1) cleared up all the issues. OneDrive being enabled or disabled didn't make a difference.

Open and edit any PS .PSD or JPG file. Try to save it. Wait and wait and wait.

Sorry for the late reply—I was on vacation for a while.

I had already uploaded a few videos, but I’ve since deleted them from Dropbox.

Even after the latest update, the problem persists, so I’m going to switch back to the old version because it’s just getting annoying and is taking up an incredible amount of my time during image editing.

The issue mainly occurs with TIF and PSD files, e.g., a 707 MB TIF file.

Everything runs locally; nothing is stored on external media. The source file is located on the same SSD as Photoshop.

Hey All! Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

Please share a video or screenshot of the issue. If you're working in Photoshop on a desktop, provide the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

Does this happen with specific documents? What is the general size of PSD/PSBs files you work with, and where are the source files stored? Have you tried moving a few documents to the internal drive and opening them from it?

Same problem here. I’ve also noticed that photoshop crushes the blacks, when looking at the same file in Capture One, and in Affinity Photo, both of them do not do this. It’s crazy that a free software performs better than Photoshop. Regardless, the file saving issue is problematic because the file saving issue holds up the computer for a long time. I’m on an M4 Mac mini. In addition, then saving .PSB files, it tends to do less of this. I haven’t tried it with saving in Photoshop format, I always work with .tiff files.

Also, what kind of drive are you saving to?

Saving directly to an external drive, or over a network connection, is unsupported, and with so many uncontrollable factors that it can break in any update, anywhere in the chain. Saving directly to external storage works until it doesn’t.

Always save to local drive, then copy over.

I'm having exactly the same problems with the same version. Rolling back to 27.9 solved the problem.
File: TIFF + JPG
RAM 64 GB
Resettings the prefernces: Yes, but it didn't work
Downgrading to 27.9.1 solves the problem
