360 HDRI Lighting for re-lighting product images

I would like to suggest a feature that I believe would benefit every product/packshot photographer.

In 3D programs it's common to use 360 degree HDRi files to light the 3D model. I believe the abillity to do this on 2D images would be a great benefit.

The new 'Harmonize' feature proves that the re-lighting technology is there, so I think an upgraded version where the user could upload their own HDRi lighting environment, then scale, rotate, adjust brightness and color temp etc. would save people lots of time and money in Postproduction.

You could try Adobe's Substance 3D Stager which does let you use your own HDRi file for lighting.

I tested Harmonize in Photoshop with a background image and a 2D shiny metal sphere with the background removed. Harmonize adjusted the coloring of the sphere, but it didn't reapply the background to the sphere as a reflection. I sent feedback based on the result, but I'm not sure how sophisticated Harmonize is intended to be.

You can also share any of your tests with the public beta of Harmonize with the Photoshop team directly by clicking on the 3 dots over the image in the Variations section of the Properties panel.
