A dangerous new road

I have been an Adobe user for more than 30 years, and is extremely concerned. The very industry that Adobe has served for so long, is soon to be harmed significantly with its inclusion of AI generative functions in its apps. Yes -- it is extremely useful, exciting and seen by some to enhance the designer/artist's workflow, but we should look further than the immediate gratification that we get from this new .

Before somebody accuse me of being a mennonite -- this new capacity is already taking work away from graphic designers. Virtually anybody can now do what designers paid, studied and built up experience for. Photo retouching/illustration and illustration used to be a field of expertise. Now anybody can do it.

Thousands of designers and artists who make a living from creating clipart for the design industry, will be out of work in, what I believe, the near future.  Hundreds of companies that provide royalty-free photos and illustrations to the industry face extinction.

I'm not afraid of new technology. I do fear its capacity to take away jobs.

Anybody with a smartphone is now a professional photographer.

Then there are monkey selfies!

Curiosamente , en mi vida profesional, he visto a muchos informáticos caer.

From my perspective, it’s not Adobe that’s at fault. They are simply meeting the expectations of the majority of their customers. If Adobe were to ignore these advancements, another company would surely step in. The issue at hand is not with a specific player, but rather with what we refer to as “progress”.

I suppose you're right. But whatever the reason, the design insutry will be hurt. The "majority of its customers" will eventually regret these expectations. It's going to bite them in the butt!
