A file doesn't open and gives me an error message saying "Impossible to open due to a program error"

Question

Hello, I was working on project. Two days ago it gaves me a strange message about a text layer issue, when I tried to interact with it, it crashed Photoshop. I succeed to delete the layer and continued working on my project. Yesterday, and until now, I can't open the file at all, it keeps giving me the same message even with all I tried. What can I do ?

Hey, @hugo_6252. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out.

As you've mentioned the Text layer, I suspect that this might be related to the issue being investigated here triggered by auto-bulleted Type Layers: https://adobe.ly/3DQiIao

You can try opening the file again in Photoshop on the Web (https://adobe.ly/4cfeLJa) and saving a copy if it does open.

Check how it goes with Photoshop 2025.
