A new pattern feature I can't find

Hi, I accidentally used a feature a few days ago (I think it might be a new one), but now I can’t find it anymore. I remember selecting part of my linework, and then a pop-up window appeared that generated a repeatable pattern based on the selected area. It’s not the “View → Pattern Preview” function. I even drew a picture of how it worked.

I’ve been searching for it for about two hours now and I’m so confused—was that a real feature, or did I just dream it😰

@Simi35017267actv  The usual trick with making patterns is the offset filter.  There will be a bunch of tutorials for doing this.  If you use Photoshop beta and the new 'partner models' that have been added, then that can make seamless patterns for you.  This video tells you lots of tips and tricks on using these new partner models, but you can go straight to creating seamless patterns here.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi @Simi35017267actv, welcome to the community!
To better understand what’s happening, could you let us know which version of Photoshop you're using? Or were you possibly using Photoshop Beta? Also, just to double-check, are you sure it was Photoshop and not another app like Illustrator? I ask because Illustrator has a feature that sounds similar to what you described.
Thanks so much!
Alek
