A way to make brush cursor reflect active size?

Hi there! I'm trying to learn Photoshop after using Krita for years. One thing that is driving me insane is that the brush cursor doesn't reflect the size of the brush based on pressure.  In Krita, when you draw, the cursor size changes based on the size of the line you are creating. You can see in the gif above what I'm talking about. 

Is this not a thing in Photoshop, or is there a way to make it reflect the size more accurately?

    I guess not. 

    But feel free to post a Feature Request (mark the thread »Idea«) on the issue.

    Are your drawing lines or cursors?  It feels kind of strange to worry about the size of the cursor at the precise position of the line being drawn, because the line is right there in front of you.  Is there something about your workflow that causes the fixed cursor size to be a problem?

     

    What do you set the cursor to in Preferences?

      I'm assuming based on your answer that there's no fix? Maybe it's not something you'd think about if you've never had something different, but I found the static cursor jarring after having a precise one for 6 years. I find it difficult to be exact when filling in small areas and erasing along edges in my drawings because I can't tell how far the line will actually extend. I also noticed that the cursor isn't rotating on tilt brushes. I have it set to "normal brush tip." I tried "full size brush tip" as well, but didn't find it any more helpful.

      That's not true.  If you use the full size cursor, then you know exactly how far the stroke will cover regardless of preset type and hardness.

      Also not true if you are using a pen tablet that has that feature.

      This is using whatever pen came with a Wacom Intus 5

      Try the full size cursor again.

      I like to have the cross hair turned on so you know exactly where the centre is. Especially useful when using something like the Clone tool.

      I see you are using Windows. If you don't already have it, give Lazy Nezumi Pro a try.  You get some time to try before you buy, and it's the best $30 (I think) you can spend for a Photoshop addon if you use a tablet.  It works with Krita and all drawing apps, and has a ton of useful presets, but what made me think of it in your case, is that it has a mappable pressure curve which gives you way more control of line thickness.
