Action to Reduce Quality

I know this is probably easy, but I can't for the life of me figure it out.  I have ~200 images that were saved with a quality of 12, but I want to reduce the quality to 10.  I've tried to create an action, but it will always try to open the file I opened when I started recording.  If I have a file already open and I start to record the action, I select "Save As' which bring up the dilaog box.  I reduce the quality to 10, select save as, but then the action records the name of the file I'm saving as, so every file I run the action on gets renamed to that file.

I just want to be able to go into the batch menu, select a folder to run the action on, and have the action reduce the qulity to 10.

Any help would be appreciated.  On the most current version of PS on a win10 machine.

You can record the Save As step without hard coding a file name; just avoid touching the file name field while recording. When using Save As to save as a JPEG, you won't see quality settings after clicking Save As from the File menu. This may happen if you are using a different command to save or if you have typed the steps in the wrong order.

In Automate > Batch, you need to check "override action save as command" so that the batch action doesn't continuously overwrite itself with the recorded filename.
