Adding color swatch to Photoshop CC 2017 freezes program

Hello,

Everytime I try and add a color swatch to my library it freezes my photoshop. Its Photoshop CC 2017 and is fully up to date. Its really annoying and I often forget about it, because its not suppose to happen and it runs smoothly within other Adobe programs. Anyone know a fix for this? If not, they need to fix this asap because I end up losing a bunch of work.

Thanks!

Hi linziehunt

Have you checked for Graphics card drivers update on your ccomputer?

Please also add your comment and the required system on this ongoing discussion Photoshop: Froze when I added a color swatch to Libraries Panel | Photoshop Family Customer Community where our engineers are looking at this issue.

Thanks,

Akash

This just happened to me - totally ridiculous!  Seems like this bug has been there for a few years and they never cared to fix it.

I don't want to have to be logged in to Creative Cloud to save a damn colour swatch.  I just lost a bunch of work to this defect.  How is it not fixed after being reported for over a year?  Adobe needs to do better to convince me that it's worthwhile sending them money every month for products that churn endlessly without ever fixing fundamental defects.

I just wanted to say that I was able to fix the problem. If you log into your creative cloud account, it does seem to solve the issue. Photoshop was freezing up and I was getting ready to lose a lot of work. I logged into creative cloud and it immediately fixed itself without crashing.

Nearly September of 2018 and this is still an issue. I just lost hours of detailed masking...

What the hell, Adobe? I'm paying you a monthly fee and for what?

Pull your heads out of your asses and fix it the damn bug already.

I had the same problem.
There is a simple solution t this, namely:
- log in to your Adobe Creative Cloud so the swatch can be added to the library
- if you do not want to log in, make sure you uncheck the 'add to my current library'. (when checked, but you are not logged in, this causes the crash)

This did not used to cause a crash, and it still shouldn't. So Adobe, please fix it. We can't be online the whole time 24/7, even not when working on the go. The program should remember the swatch addition to the library when offline or not logged in, and then add as soon as you are online/logged in.
You are investing a lot in mobile solutions/on-the-go-designflows, so a thing like this is just not smart programming.

Same here. Cannot add swatch to the library, it freezes.

My system is iMac OS Sierra 10.12.6, and photoshop CC 19.0.

This is annoying because I want to create a reference "Body Dark Tone" colour with RGB=9,26,25,

but I just can't, so every time I want my colour, I have to recreate it using the colour picker...

Being able to create a swatch once would just speed up my workflow.

I have the same issue as well but without the option to force quit!

I'm having the same issue. Crashed twice today and lost a lot of work. This seems like it should be an easy fix...

I also have this issue. Unbelievable that this is still not fixed after such a long time. You would expect better service for such an expensive piece of software.
