Adobe Camera Raw 15 - bug or mistake

Adobe Camera Raw 15.4/5 no longer provides the option (as a pull-down menu in the Edit controls) to choose the correct color profile to use (included camera-manufacturer profiles). As is available in ACR 14.5. - See attachment.

Is that an intentional ommission, or just a bug that needs fixing? Or has that control simply been moved to somewhere else in ACR?

That functionality is a critical part of my own workflow and settings, so I have reverted to ACR 14.5, and blocked all auto-updates of Photoshop until I find out what is going on.

Mac OSX Ventura 13.3.1 (a). Mac Studio Max.

Just for completeness (some repetition):

Photoshop 24.7.0

Mac Studio Max

OS: Mac OSX Ventura 13.3.1(a)

Steps to reproduce:

1. Use ACR 15.4 or 15.5 with Photoshop 24.7.0, for Mac OSX Ventura 13.3.1(a)

2. Open a raw photo from a camera that uses the .DNG format for raw photos (e.g. Leica cameras that are not Panasonic clones)

3. Try to select the color profile to employ for that picture.

Expected: to see the profiles drop-down menu available for use

Actual: No menu available, since ACR 15.4

Additional - the problem does not exist with earlier versions of ACR (e.g. 14.5)

Here's is what I am seeing with ACR 15.5 on Mac Studio, OSX Ventura 13.3.1 (a) - as noted in original post.

Is that the Windows version - or the Mac version?

Still there:

The camera matching profiles are available both under "browse" in the rolldown, and the profile browser icon to the right of the rolldown.

Nope - this is with camera-generated 16-bit .DNG raw files - all I ever use through ACR. (Leica uses .DNG as its raw format).

Plus - that profile option menu was in still place in whatever Camera Raw I received in April or May of THIS YEAR - when I first subscribed to and installedPhotoshop CC. I spent a long time setting up my camera presets based exactly on being able to pick profiles there. This is a change in behavior in the past few months.

Nothing has changed there.

Camera profiles only apply to raw files. It sounds like you have an RGB file open (PSD/TIFF/jpeg), in which the profile is already baked into the pixel data.
