After Quitting Photoshop- Photoshop Is Running in the Background?

Is this something new in Photoshop 27.11? After quitting Photoshop I can see that it is not closed. If I go to the dock on my Mac desktop, ‘Quit’ is not an option but ‘Photoshop is running in the background’ is.

Is this something new? Can I turn this off permanently so that Photoshop quits when I want it to?

Thanks for your help.

That’s a new feature in macOS Golden Gate 27:

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/125671

That doesn’t necessarily mean Photoshop itself is still running, it could be Creative Cloud doing something, which it was doing in your previous macOS, you just didn’t have any indication of that before macOS Golden Gate 27.

A black dot below the application in the dock means that application, Photoshop in your case is actually running.

A grey dot below the application in the dock means Photoshop itself is not running, but some part Creative Cloud is doing something.

Do you have it set to automatically update?

No, does this have something to do with it?
