Question

After reinstalling Photoshop 27.9.1, all my preferences, actions, and plugins are gone—for my daily work, this is a total disaster! How can I restore all of this?

The previous version of Photoshop crashed, so I restarted my Mac and reinstalled Photoshop; after that, all my personal settings were gone; how can I restore them?

Hi @frankw78750162 , Welcome to the Photoshop Community Forum! There are a few things we can try to restore your settings:

    • If the settings were not automatically migrated, you can manually copy settings from a previous installation if they are still available: https://adobe.ly/45LNRG9.

    • For actions that were on the previous installation, you can refer to the instructions here: https://adobe.ly/45Jo2GO

    • If plugins are missing, download the latest version of the plugin installers from the vendors' websites and install them. Make sure you have administrator-level privileges to install plugins. https://adobe.ly/4hgqFqF

    • In the future, before performing any actions like reinstalling or rolling back versions, back up your preferences to avoid loss. You can find instructions on how to: https://adobe.ly/4wLYAMG

Please let me know if you need further assistance, and we can continue to troubleshoot. I hope this helps! ^CH
