After update 25.7.0 Clone Stamp only letting me click once instead of drag

I've been using Photoshop since the 90's and I've never run into this problem, call me old and not up to par on the current updates but I'm having an insanely annoying issue with the clone stamp.

Normally I can ALT Click a spot, then drag the cursor around and clone entire areas. Today I tried and it's only stamping one click at a time. If I drag the cursor, the cross just stays in the original click position and only clones the initial click, one spot. So example if I were trying to clone a straight line I would have to click the cursor 20 times instead of just moving it down the line. I've toggled the aligned box, all layers, everything and nothing seems to be working. Help!

Correct answer D Fosse

That's the "aligned" checkbox apparently not doing what it should.

Reset the tool, or if that doesn't work, reset preferences.

Thanks, I tried resetting the tool with no success, I ended up resetting everything with a resart and it seems to be working now.
