Question

AI is fast. Manual work is precise. Can the two actually coexist in one creative process?

Recently, while reviewing photos from a family trip, I came across that classic problem: someone's always missing from the perfect photo. Previously, trying to fix this manually would take hours—cropping, adjusting colors, lighting, positioning… a real challenge.

Now, with tools like Nano Banana and Harmonize in Photoshop, I've been able to solve this quickly and accurately:

  1. Using the Object Selection Tool, I precisely crop the person from another photo, preserving proportions and details.

2. The selection tool allows me to choose the positioning, leaving it exactly in the pose I want.

3. Cutting always requires some adjustment, and tools like pen and lasso are perfect for this.

4. I use Harmonize to match light and color between the images, ensuring an organic look.

5. Finally, I apply Generative Fill with the Nano Banana model to make fine adjustments—correcting poses, expressions, and small details to achieve a realistic result.

The end result is a complete, natural, and meaningful photo that would be nearly impossible to create manually in such a short time.

For me, AI takes over the repetitive, technical work, while manual control ensures that creativity and emotion remain intact.

What about you? How do you combine AI and manual creativity in your projects? Where do you rely on AI and where do you prefer not to have full control?

@christianot40873293  pretty good job.... kinda cool to see how Nano Banana and AI takes over... Except for the arm around the child, the arm doesn't look right nor has the same texture as the other arm... but other than that, pretty good!

Thank you!
By hand, you can always generate more versions until you find the perfect one!
And that's fantastic, having so many versions to choose from so quickly.
