Question

Animating pixel art, where to start?

Hi everyone,

I'll start saying that I'm new to photoshop and have no drawing skills.

I have always been interested in pixel art animations, and I'm trying to get familiar with some graphic concepts to start making some, just for fun.

I searched for something online but tutorials and threads mainly refer to very simple 8bit style pixel art, like old pokemon/super mario sprites, which I love, but what I'm really interested to is this kind of animations:

Kenze (@emperor_wee) • Instagram photos and videos

(No spam inteded, just for example)

I know it's impossible to get that kind of result immediatly without any basis and knowledge, but I thought maybe someone expert could help me by telling me where to start and what to look up for.

Thank you!

They look like Gif Frame animation.   Gif  color support is less than 8bit color, GIF support 256 maped colors  255 if there is transparenct.  There are many tutorials on creating Frame amination with Photoshop.

Thank you, I think I forgot to mention I already did one, big pixel art, very simple, I got to know how the frame animation works.

What I was looking for is something that could help me making that kind of pictures (the ones I linked), like where to start to create some kind of background, sky, building ...

Is there anything I can look up?

    Thanks!
