Another cursor issue in Photoshop

My cursor does strange things when I'm using Photoshop.

This only happens intermittently with Photoshop and is never an issue with other applications.

I'm running Mac 12.6.2 and Photoshop 26.5.0 on a Macbook Pro.

My cursor "jumps" to the lower left corner of my screen. For example, if I open an image from a Finder window, when I toggle back to Photoshop the cursor is down in the extremem lower left corner of the screen. I have this corner set as a "hot corner" to initiate my screen saver -- so the screen saver kicks in and slows down my work flow.

I *could* turn off the hot corner.....but I want to know why this is happening and if I can resolve my jumpy cursor.

Thanks for sharing the details. What you’re describing — the cursor jumping to the lower-left corner — does not appear to be a Photoshop issue, especially since it happens intermittently.

This behavior is most likely caused by third-party interference, such as background apps, utilities, or extensions that interact with input or display behaviors.

Here’s what you can try:

Restart Photoshop or your Mac. If doing this temporarily resolves the issue, that supports the third-party interference theory.
When the issue occurs, close background apps from the Dock or the macOS menu bar one at a time. Pay attention to screen recording tools, custom input/mouse utilities, or desktop management software.
While it may not affect other apps visibly, it can still impact Photoshop, especially when it involves GPU rendering, cursor states, or input focus handling.
Upgrade to macOS Ventura, Sonoma, or Sequoia.
As a workaround, turning off the hot corner might prevent the interruption, though I understand that’s not a solution.
