Question

Ask generative fill to leave some space possible?

I'm playing with generative fill to create images from scratch, but what I want to do is later on add some of my elements in the images, and for that it would be great if it was possible to tell the ai to leave some space at a specific spot.

For example: Leave an open space in the bottom half of the scene (to accommodate an object to be added later.)

I tried several variants, but it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas? Thanks

You can't "say" that the generative fill should leave space on areas of the pictures. Generative fill is filling the marked area of the picture. If you like to leave some space you have to let these unmarked.

Hello @defaultrnag86ilersi ,

Could you share a screenshot of the image(s) you are tryign to create? That will help understand better what you are doing to provide prompt suggestions.

yeah actually the idea is not to leave the area with no generative fill, it is just to be left uncrouded, this example below was one that worked out better, you can see in the middle  the area is uncrouded, that's what I am trying to achieve. That's actually the first step. In the second step I want to incorporate some of my work. Am still trying to figure out how to incorporate well. Leaving prompt empty doesn't really do the trick in this case scenario as the picture composition is complex and angles might be a bit different.

HI @defaultrnag86ilersi ,

Thanks for sharing that information. Below is a picture i generated, which may or may not be helpful.

"Create a forest path in autumn that in that opens up to a wide empty clearing."

From my experience, the generative fill is like talking to an artist first hand. You may need to communicate and try some different prompts to get on teh same page so to speak. A difference being is that a human artist will know the difference better to what"leave space means" form an art board and planning perspecitve. AI only know to tr yto complete a full picture of what you are describing. For the AI you may need to describe the scene in a way to showcase how the empty space looks in the image you are tryign to create vs just tryign to tell it to leave space on teh page. Hope that helps and feel free to postu further iterations and we can try to hone the prompts in with you if it's helpful.
