Auto Tone, Auto Color, and Auto Contrast Adjustments Are Lost After Transform Operations

Hello Adobe Photoshop Team,

I would like to report a long-standing issue that has affected Photoshop for several years.

Issue Description

The problem occurs when working with a duplicated image layer.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open an image in Photoshop.
2. Duplicate the image layer.
3. Select the duplicated layer.
4. Apply one or more of the following commands:
   • Image → Auto Tone
   • Image → Auto Color
   • Image → Auto Contrast
5. Verify that the color correction has been applied successfully.
6. Perform another operation on the same duplicated layer, such as:
   • Straightening the image.
   • Scaling or transforming the layer.

Expected Behavior

The Auto Tone, Auto Color, or Auto Contrast adjustments should remain applied after any transform or straightening operation performed on the same layer.

Actual Behavior

As soon as the duplicated layer is straightened, scaled, or transformed, the image unexpectedly reverts to its original colors. The Auto adjustments are lost, as though they had never been applied, while the transform itself is preserved.

Additional Information

This issue has persisted across multiple Photoshop versions for several years. It appears to affect non-destructive editing workflows involving duplicated layers and can easily go unnoticed until later in the editing process, resulting in lost work.

I believe this behavior is unintended and would appreciate it if the Photoshop team could investigate and resolve the issue.
