Question

Automation For Merging Two Images Into One

Hi there,

I am working on creating an automated solution for processing website e-commerce product photos. Basically I’ll have a top down image of a product and a side profile image of the same product which are taken on two different cameras. These images will then be in two separate folders. From those image folders, I need the top down image and the side profile image to be imported into photoshop, stacked on each other and the top image aligned to the top of canvas and the bottom image aligned to the bottom of the canvas and then exported as one image. Does anyone know how I can use a script to automate this process so that I can do this with 200 images at a time? Example is attached.

Thanks!

@suzy_95

I created the following script to stack alpha-numeric sorting images from two separate folders to a two-layer file. This should get you 90% of the way there. Before the script saves the file to various file formats, an action run by the script can complete any further automation that you require (the action can run another script if more complex processing is required that can't be achieved via an action).

Please provide sample images (both the originals and the resulting files).

What does »I need the top down image and the side profile image to be imported into photoshop« mean exactly?

Into what kind of image (dimensions, Color Space, …) do you import the image pairs?

I need the images to fit into a sqaure dimention of 1000x1000 px (or at least export at that size) and RGB color space. The attached image would be the goal I'm trying to achieve. Thanks 🙂

Again:

Please provide sample images (both the originals and the resulting files).

The image you posted is not 1000px x 1000px.
