Question

Bridge will not longer download from my camers

My problem involves Bridge, which I have been using for many years. I started to download photos from my camera. There is a new way to get in, which I found by clicking the camera icon at the top of the page. It went to download as always, but when it said to pick a device, my camera was not longer an option. I can not find a way to add a device! This is estreemly frustrating! I need help. Thanks

I normally use Lightroom to import raw files - but this is how it looks in Bridge when I plug in my card reader. It works as it should:

Naturally, if you have a new camera you need to make sure it's supported in your version of ACR (the Camera Raw plugin).

The general advice is to not connect the camera directly. Use a card reader!

Copying files directly off the camera has always been considered risky. If the camera battery is low, or the cable/connectors are worn with loose connection, or any other malfunction, the files may end up damaged or lost.

What options do you have in the "Select a device" drop down selector?
