I've just updated Photoshop to cc 2017 in hopes it would fix this bug. Whenever I hold alt and right click and drag, the red brush preview no longer shows up, as it hasn't been for a few months now. (Previous version was the latest cc version of Photoshop, 2015.3?) my settings are: http://imgur.com/LQmm6iy/

The red Brush Preview does work on my Windows 10 Dell laptop given the same settings in CC 2017. (Also works on my OSX 10.11.6 Macbook, too).

So lets reset the Brush Tool to see if that kicks it into place. Just right-click on that icon and Reset all Tools to be safe.

Let me know if that does it.

Now I don't know the differences between my system and yours outside of Ps, but another reason would be corrupted Ps Prefs.

You can reset those on Exit and restart Photoshop. Same for PC/Mac.
