bug photoshop choppy

Thank you for reply. Now it says metal but overall performance is laggy like move image left to right choppy. liqufiy is laggy

@28595393 , go to Photoshop > Preferences > Technology Preview  and uncheck 'Deactivate Native Canvas', restart (if it was checked).

it says legacy opengl. Not metal. It could be bug.

It's in the lower left corner of the app frame; the small chevron-like arrow will popup to show you the various document status indicators. I've circled it in the image below.

I've confirmed that we have reproduced an issue with the Liquify feature on M2, but general opening files (both RAW and jpeg) doesn't seem to be acting up for us. Any other details we can look into?

where is  document status indicator?

@28595393 , Thanks for the update; if you go to your document status indicator (bottom left of Ps screen), and select GPU mode, does it show Metal or something different (once a document is opened)?

Also, since you may be opening the JPEG through ACR (it gets involved in RAW and JPG opening), go to Photoshop Settings > Camera Raw (bottom of the settings) > Performance, and try turning off the ACR GPU acceleration (eliminating some variables). Restart Photoshop for changes to take effect.

just opened one file and it seems bug on m2, m2 pro and m2 max and just photoshop opened nothing opened. phootshop is so laggy and overall not smooth on macos 13.3.1 running m2 pro 16gb ram (MacBook Pro 16 inch) just opened pictures from JPG shoot from Sony A7 IV
