Bug when adjusting exposure and gamma correction

Hi,

I have the latest version of Adobe Photoshop 2026, the Swedish version. When I pick the option to adjust exposure, starting with gamma correction and then going for exposure, the gamma correction automatically jumps down to 0,1, turning the image all black. I've attached a video to showcase this bug. I've never had this issue ever before with any version of Photoshop, and it makes working with photos very, very frustrating right now.

I hope there's a solution for this.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Fredrik

PhotoShop 27.2.0

Windows 11 Home 64bit

On all types of images

I found a fix via this thread: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/exposure-adjustment-sets-gamma-correction-to-0-01-automatically-photoshop-v27-x-windows-11/td-p/15569061

The solution is: "Edit > Preferences > Technology Previews and uncheck “Enable Modern User Interface”

Still, very weird bug.

Hi @fredrik_0624

Thanks for reporting this, Fredrik. That definitely sounds frustrating, and the video is very helpful. To investigate this further, we’ll need a few more details from you:

  • Exact Photoshop version number (Help > About Photoshop), not just 2026

  • Operating system.

  • Does this happen:

    • Only with Exposure adjustment layer or also via Image > Adjustments > Exposure?

    • On all images or only specific files?

  • Have you tried the following, and if yes, did it make any difference?

    • Disabling Use Graphics Processor (Preferences > Performance)
    • Switching the document bit depth (8-bit vs 16-bit)

Also, please confirm whether this issue started immediately after updating to the latest version. We're here to help.

Regards,

Srishti

I had the same probelm with the German 27.2 version on an iMac 24, macOS 26.2. In the Modern User Interface in the tool (Belichtng in German) infront of exposure (Versatz in German) and gamma-correction (Gamma-Koorektur in German there is a @. Best, Johannes
